Dream Big with Sacramento Civil Engineers

The Sacramento Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers Younger Member Forum (Sac YMF) is excited to announce a special screening of the brand new IMAX film, Dream Big: Engineering Our World.

The film begins at 7 PM, but join us in the lobby before the film for fun hands-on learning activities for the younger audience members and opportunities for conversation and direct engagement with local civil engineers. Come learn about the role civil engineers play in our local community, expectations for studying as a civil engineering student, careers in civil engineering, and more!

Dream Big: Engineering Our World is a first of its kind film for IMAX and giant screen theatres that will transform how we think about engineering. From the world's tallest building to underwater robots and a solar car race across Australia, Dream Big celebrates the human ingenuity behind engineering marvels big and small, and reveals the heart that drives engineers to create better lives for people around the world.

Schedule:

5:30 PM: Doors open.

5:30 PM - 7:00 PM: Fun engineering activities, networking, and informational booths in the lobby. The theatre snack bar will be available for purchases.

7:00 PM - 8:00 PM: Dream Big film.

Tickets:

Tickets are required for this event and will be sold online ONLY. No tickets will be sold at the door. Please print your ticket and bring it to the event.

If you are an educator or youth director, please contact the event organizer for information about reduced cost or free tickets.

Transportation and parking:

Sustainable transportation to the theater is encouraged! The Esquire IMAX is easily accessible by foot, bike, light rail, or bus.

If you plan to drive, the Esquire IMAX offers several parking validation services, but don't forget to bring your parking tag to the theatre for validation.

• 10th and L lot: charges $5 flat rate after 6PM, validation covers $5.
  
• Hyatt hotel parking on 12 St. between L and K St: charges $1.50 every 20 minutes, validation covers the first 40 minutes.
  
• Esquire parking garage on 13 between J and K: charges $1.75 every 20 minutes, validation is for 50% off the 1st 90 minutes.
  
• Sheraton garage on 13 between I and J: charges $1.75 every 20 minutes, validation is for 50% off the 1st 90 minutes.
